New Tax legislation on its way
New tax legislation of Sint Maarten should be implemented as soon as possible, since the legislation is practically ready for submission to parliament.
That is the opinion of the president of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curacao, Sint Maarten and Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Evert J. van der Poel and project leader Jane Jansen. They gave a presentation to a select audience of tax experts on Sint Maarten on May 21, 2015. In Aruba, the tax legislation went into effect on January 1 of this year. Legislation in Bonaire enters in to force in June, 2015.
